When I get my own place, my first and only must-haves are windows and floor-to-ceiling bookshelves. Not a bed, not a Sub-Zero, but windows and bookshelves:
Best bookshelves ever. Dining room designed by Diane Bergeron Interiors (via Orange Beautiful).
Fitzhugh Karol & Lyndsay Caleo’s beautiful (I’d call it perfect) brownstone. See Design*Sponge for the full set of pictures.
Another favorite is this still from Scott Engler’s house, shot by Melissa Kaseman (via Design Sponge). One day, man, one day.
I so understand you! I can dream about huge bookcases!
I totally agree about the floor to ceiling book shelves. I love having all my books out like that. I currently have 2 big book cases of books but have loads stashed in cupboards and boxes at my parents as our current little flat cant handle them all. I would die for my own library space!!!

Ohhhhh gosh, all the books I could buy to fill them! Gorgeous photos!
That the most amazing book shelves I have ever saw. It is well arrange and so clean. I have a small library in my house. Now I know what to do to make it look amazing. I will use this post as my inspiration.
I’m in love with the armchair – I am always on the lookout for a bit of plush velvet!
Love your blog – have just started my own – http://www.ebagsandgladrags.com – all about vintage and fashion and odd bits and bobs
will be following! x
I totally agree! I absolutely adore Hugh Grant’s apartment in Bridget Jones’ Diary.
I truly appreciate it! I’m just wondering how hassle-full managing all those books placed at the top part suspended into the ceiling. But this idea is terrifyingly great. I usually see bookshelves like this in libraries of Hollywood movies, well I could really say its extraordinary!
