Floor-to-Ceiling Bookshelves

April 5, 2010 by Renee Claire

When I get my own place, my first and only must-haves are windows and floor-to-ceiling bookshelves. Not a bed, not a Sub-Zero, but windows and bookshelves:

Dining room designed by Diane Bergeron Interiors

Best bookshelves ever. Dining room designed by Diane Bergeron Interiors (via Orange Beautiful).

Fitzhugh Karol and Lyndsay Caleo's home

Fitzhugh Karol & Lyndsay Caleo’s beautiful (I’d call it perfect) brownstone. See Design*Sponge for the full set of pictures.

Scott Engler’s house, shot by Melissa Kaseman

Another favorite is this still from Scott Engler’s house, shot by Melissa Kaseman (via Design Sponge). One day, man, one day.

I totally agree about the floor to ceiling book shelves. I love having all my books out like that. I currently have 2 big book cases of books but have loads stashed in cupboards and boxes at my parents as our current little flat cant handle them all. I would die for my own library space!!!

I totally agree! I absolutely adore Hugh Grant’s apartment in Bridget Jones’ Diary.

I truly appreciate it! I’m just wondering how hassle-full managing all those books placed at the top part suspended into the ceiling. But this idea is terrifyingly great. I usually see bookshelves like this in libraries of Hollywood movies, well I could really say its extraordinary!
